The popular Sihlcity shopping centre is now located on the site of Zurich’s former paper mill on the Sihl River. For the remodelling, the public spaces were given a fresh, convivial atmosphere based on the concept of the flow of a river, with individual islands for relaxation and catering.

The lighting echoes the architecture, guiding visitors through the space in an undulating manner with differently-curved light lines according to function:
Powerful indirect lighting illuminates the ceiling, creating an inviting ambience.
Integrated and evenly-distributed downlights illuminate the floor, creating a pleasant and contrasting visual identity.
Spotlights mounted on hanging bars illuminate specific areas and, with specially-adapted LED inserts, ensure healthy plant growth.
The result is a cohesive overall concept which is inspired by the Sihl River that flows below and is discreetly integrated into the shopping centre.
