From workshop to modern working environment – Office conversion in Basel

These former workshops were converted into a quiet, attractive office environment during ongoing operations. The centrepiece of the building is the coffee point on the second floor, which functions as a meeting point and recreation area. The building takes its distinct identity from its atrium, which connects all levels with one other and enables open communication throughout the building. A roof terrace located on the fifth floor is available for use by all employees.

During the renovation, the existing pendant luminaires were upgraded and reconfigured to conform to the new room layout and ensure balanced lighting throughout the office. The harmonious shape of the luminaires blends in perfectly with the different ceiling structures and lends the building an overall sense of calm.

The lighting is augmented by simple table lamps at each workstation, which allow each office inhabitant to adjust the level of lighting to their own requirements.

In the coffee point, stylish floor lamps show off the lounge furnishings to good effect and, in combination with the lush greenery, create a relaxing atmosphere for a short break during the working day.
